Hi there!
I'm Kim, a certified coach who has been in the software development world for over two decades. I've spent the majority in IC/leadership role blends (IC = individual contributor) with young companies, growing from a few people to hundreds.
I played the proverbial acronym bingo game, did the all-nighters, the on-call, the moonlighting as DBA/PM/[fill-in-the-blank]. I hired and fired and made decisions that were great and not-so-great.

Kim Mansour, 20+ years backend dev and leadership experience in startups. Certified coach.
I wish I had known then what I know now. The tech professional spendsso much energy learning the next technical skill/strategy/system, adding more tools to the toolbox. Those tools ARE helpful, but they are NOT capable of shifting you to a level where you work at your highest capacity, enjoy your life, and don't dream of burning it all to the ground to go live under a bridge.
The only thing that can do this is your own mind.
Imagine if we, as a profession, dedicated just a fraction of the time we spend mastering technical skills to learning mind-management. The transformation would be incredible! The trouble is, we don't recognize there is a gap. We often believe we're simply reacting to reality, unaware of how much our internal stories are influencing our reaction. Have you ever said things like "They keep changing their mind and it drives me insane." "Everything is behind and I can't win." Mercy, I know I have. Notice our tendency to attribute what we feel and do to something outside of us.
But here's the truth: your thoughts shape your reality and drive your actions. Like outdated software running in the background, these narratives silently drive your life. The good news? Unlike your CEO's attention span, you have the ability to change them. It's not always easy - I still catch myself falling into old patterns - but it's possible with the right tools and support.
This is why having a coach is invaluable. An outside perspective helps you reverse engineer your behavior, and then leave you to decide if you want to keep the thoughts driving it or begin the work to rebuild. It's as simple as that - but the results are profound. When YOU start driving your life, rather than your old habits and stories, incredible things happen.
How did I get into coaching?
I can see threads of this building throughout my career, but the real turning point came when a friend of mine was considering starting a business. Wow, did I take it upon myself to be Captain of the Cheer Team. I talked her off every ledge. Nudged every forward step. I thought that I was "coaching" someone towards their goals and I was delighted! I wanted to learn more about how to do this Super Awesome Favor for more people.
My study showed me two things: 1) mindset coaching was fascinating and 2) I hadn't been coaching my friend at all, but pushing my own agenda on what I thought they should do. Woof. I kept studying, getting coached, coaching and generally raving that everyone should know about this stuff. My goal now is to share it with as many as I can.
Why Technology Leadership Coaching?
Navigating technology leadership is no easy feat. Between back-to-back meetings, resolving conflicts, imposter syndrome, managing technical debt and the insane rate of change in tech itself, it's easy to feel overwhelmed and exhausted. Without proper support, the risk of burnout is massive, and the tech industry stands to lose some fantastic people.
This is why I'm here. As a coach, I provide a space for tech leaders to learn, vent, and practice essential leadership and mind-management skills. Uncertain about your career path? Struggling with a difficult team member? Drowning in an endless sea of tasks? Whatever the issue, I'm here to help. From role-playing difficult conversations to improving decision-making, productivity and resilience to the chaos, I've got you.
